Granada Hills : Bodies of Man, Woman Identified
Coroner’s officials released the names Tuesday of a man and woman found dead this week in a Granada Hills cul-de-sac, victims in an apparent murder-suicide.
They were identified as Joaquin Gomez, 42, of Panorama City, and Elsy Wurangian, 43, of Granada Hills, said Capt. David Campbell of the county coroner’s investigations division. The bodies were found Monday morning in front of an apartment building on Blackhawk Street near Balboa Boulevard.
Police said witnesses reported that they saw a man and woman talking at about 5:30 a.m. outside the apartment, and that the man subsequently shot the woman twice in the head and then pointed the gun at his head and pulled the trigger.
Police Tuesday declined to comment on whether Gomez and Wurangian knew each other.
