Magnolia 57, Western 52 (OT)--Magnolia’s Amber Pickett converted two free throws with seven seconds left to force overtime, and Imelda Ortiz’s three-point play with 50 seconds remaining gave the Sentinels a 55-52 lead. Magnolia (11-6, 3-0) made 19 of 25 free throws.

Magnolia’s Andrea Picchi scored 34 points, making 13 of 14 free throws, to surpass 1,000 career points; she has 1,013.

In the Pacific Coast League:

Laguna Hills 60, Laguna Beach 19--Tamara Inoue had 15 points, eight steals and six assists for No. 5 Laguna Hills (15-2, 4-0).

University 55, Costa Mesa 49--Lyz Day (23 points) made seven of 10 three-pointers for University (11-7, 2-2), which trailed by one after three quarters. Chanel Anderson (14 points, 11 rebounds) led Costa Mesa (11-9, 2-2).
