Biola 80, Southern California College 72--The visiting Vanguards (10-8, 2-2) cut Biola’s lead, 16 at the half, to three points with two minutes left but Biola (16-4, 2-2) pulled away.

Eric Walker scored 17 points for SCC, which played without leading scorer Kevin Carlson, who has a shoulder injury.

In Golden State Athletic Conference women’s basketball:

Concordia 78, Azusa Pacific 70--Melissa Ridge scored 17 points, Angela Sather had 13 points and 10 rebounds, Jamie Gast had 13 points and Audre Moss had 12 points and nine rebounds for visiting Concordia (13-6, 2-2). Azusa Pacific is 12-4, 3-1.

In nonconference men’s basketball:

Holy Names 84, Chapman 72--Holy Names, an NAIA school in Oakland, led by as many as 22 points in the second half and visiting Chapman got no closer than 10. Toby Curto scored 24 points and Jim Falletta had 16 for the Panthers (8-8).
