Sherman Oaks : Feuer to Meet With Panel on Park Issues

Share

Los Angeles City Councilman Mike Feuer will meet with the city Parks and Recreation Commission in Sherman Oaks today to discuss several issues concerning the Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks Park.

About $2.7 million is available to refurbish the park and Feuer will address the need for a new master plan for the park, which could include renovating the swimming pool and bath house, Feuer spokesman Howard Gantman said.

One plan under consideration is to replace the current pool with a heated one that would be open year-round, Gantman said. But a new pool and bathhouse could cost more than $2 million, he said.

Gantman said Feuer hopes residents will become involved in helping make decisions concerning all areas of the park, including park staffing and the use of available park funds.

The meeting will begin at 3 p.m. today at the Van Nuys/Sherman Oaks Senior Citizens Center, 5040 Van Nuys Blvd.
