The Steelers evolved from a run-oriented offense to a wide-open passing game this season, with a corps of virtual unknowns leading the way. Yancey Thigpen, a castoff of the San Diego Chargers, led the way with a breakthrough season. On the other side, Dallas spent $35 million to corral the game’s top coverage cornerback in Deion Sanders.
