Three people were hospitalized, one in critical condition, after a pickup truck rammed a motorcycle carrying two people as it was waiting for a stoplight on Harbor Boulevard. The names of the victims were not available Sunday evening.

About 8:20 p.m., two people riding a Harley-Davidson motorcycle northbound on Harbor Boulevard had stopped for a red light at the intersection of Wooley Road, police said.

While the motorcycle driver was waiting at the light, a red Toyota pickup truck struck them from behind, police said. The motorcycle was shoved through the intersection while the truck spun to a stop in the intersection.

The motorcycle driver and his female passenger were lying in the intersection when police arrived. Both were conscious when police arrived, but the passenger was in critical condition, according to Oxnard police.

The driver of a second motorcycle who was waiting at the intersection was not injured, but his motorcycle was slightly damaged, police said.

The driver of the truck apparently hit his windshield and suffered cuts to the face. The two motorcycle passengers were taken to St. John’s Regional Medical Center. The pickup truck driver was taken to Ventura County Medical Center.

Police weren’t certain Sunday evening why the truck rammed the motorcycle. There were, however, no skid marks in the road.
