Four Are Killed in Accident on Pomona Freeway
Four people were killed Sunday evening in Pomona in a suspected drunk-driving accident and the resulting fire on the eastbound Pomona Freeway, a Los Angeles County Fire Department spokeswoman said.
Three victims in the accident, which involved two vans and a pickup truck, were pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters extinguished the blaze, she said.
A fourth victim was airlifted to County-USC Medical Center, where he died. Two others were injured in the crash and taken to Pomona Valley Hospital.
California Highway Patrol officers arrested the suspected drunk driver after the 7 p.m. crash.
