Residents Named to County Panels

Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky on Thursday announced the selection of several San Fernando Valley residents to county commissions.

Among the selections:

* Attorney Fred Gaines, a Calabasas resident and a partner at the Sherman Oaks law firm of Reznick & Reznick, was named to the Library Commission.

* Studio City resident and attorney Wayne Avrashow was picked for the Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Authority Commission, which oversaw the expansion of the Los Angeles Convention and Exhibition Center.

* Annie E. Cho of North Hills, a television executive for KSCI Channel 18, was selected for the Private Industry Council, an organization that works with local businesses on employment issues.

* Barry Binder, a Sherman Oaks attorney, was picked for the Assessment Appeals Board, which hears property tax appeals.

Yaroslavsky reappointed North Hollywood resident Milton Tepper to the Commission on Aging, which advises the board on issues involving seniors.
