OJAI : Journal Accepting Photographs, Poetry
Rivertalk, a poetry journal published by the Ojai Center for the Arts, is accepting poetry and photography for its spring 1996 issue.
“We don’t set a theme,” said editor Joan Raymund. “We’re looking for good, modern poetry.” Any subject matter is worthy, she said, as long as the poems are “vivid, substantive and contemporary.”
Poets may submit up to five works. They must be typed, with a title, and a name, address and telephone number in the upper right corner. Enclose $1 for handling and a self-addressed, stamped envelope.
Photographs are also being accepted, Raymund said--color for the cover and black-and-white for inside pages. Submit 5-by-7 or 8-by-10 vertical shots, with name, address and phone number on the back of each.
Each person whose work is accepted will receive a free copy of Rivertalk and be honored at a spring poetry festival, Raymund said. Deadline is Feb. 15. Mail submissions to Joan Raymund, 411 Tico Road, Ojai 93023.
