City Annexes Land at Resident’s Request
At the request of a property owner who wants the city to provide trash collection, street repair and other services, the city has annexed a small residential lot.
Zirca Higgins, who lives at 1222 N. Idaho St., which had been part of unincorporated land, wanted to receive sewer services from La Habra, city officials said.
But because her home was not in La Habra, her property had to be annexed by the city.
The City Council approved the annexation last week, two months after the county’s Local Agency Formation Commission did the same.
City officials said services for Higgins’ property already are being offered.
