Owner Ken Behring, of the Seattle Seahawks, is rewarding fans’ 20 years of loyal support by heading for Orange County--possibly for health reasons. Insiders suspect a virus spread by contact with Al Davis and Art Modell. Believed to have originated in rats, it has yet to affect humans.

Mike Penner’s column (Feb. 5) was about the way Anaheim is jumping through hoops to accommodate Ken Behring and his Seattle Seahawks. The column was titled: “Anaheim Primping for Suitor.” I just wanted to let you know of a misspelling. There’s no “R” in the second word.

I see no justification for Bill Plaschke to trash talk and insult Ken Behring, owner of the Seattle Seahawks, by comparing his physical and mental makeup to a jelly doughnut.

If Behring had the ability to make all the money required to buy an NFL team, he must have considerable mental ability, at least more than Plaschke.

In fact, Behring is to be commended for having the courage of his convictions, right or wrong, to improve conditions for his team.
