Man Arrested in Transient’s Death
A 30-year-old homeless man was arrested in connection with the death of another transient whose body was found in Agoura, a Los Angeles County sheriff’s spokesman said Monday.
Deputies arrested David Alan Metcalf in Thousand Oaks late Sunday afternoon on suspicion of killing Paul Edwards, 40.
Although deputies believed Edwards had been shot to death, they are now investigating other possibilities, a spokesman said. The cause of death is to be determined by the coroner later this week.
Edwards’ body was found decomposing in an abandoned building in the 2700 block of Triunfo Canyon Road on Sunday morning. Neighbors said the shack where the body was found had previously been used to house llamas.
Metcalf was being held without bail at the Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station.
