O.J. Simpson Coverage

Share

I was surprised to see Peter H. King’s column “O.J. Talks! and Talks, and Talks . . . “ (Feb. 11) on Page 3 of the front section. This, after flipping past the front page, with its color photo of Faye Resnick and the corresponding article about her deposition.

King is right: Simpson gets an amazing amount of media attention. But The Times is no exception. Almost daily, the front page dedicates itself to covering his activities. Why are you allowing him to “command front-page coverage without making any real news,” as King says? His criticism of the media applies to the very newspaper it appears in.

I hope The Times will soon stop covering non-news and concentrate instead on more meaningful issues. King is not alone in his disgust.
