Public’s Help Sought in Identifying Victim

The man is described as Latino, about 5 feet 3.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department and its coroner’s division is seeking the public’s help in identifying a man struck by a car and killed about 9 p.m. Jan. 7.

The accident occurred on the southbound Orange Freeway at the West La Jolla Street overpass just south of Orangethorpe Avenue. The victim had no identification with him, and coroner’s and CHP investigators have been unable to determine who he is.

He is described as 30 to 40 years old, Latino, about 5 feet 3 and 137 pounds with brown eyes, and brown to black hair. He has a black mustache and a small patch of hair under his lower lip, sheriff’s officials said.

The man wore size 32 X 30 Rustler-brand blue jeans, a white T-shirt with small, colorful, Western-style figures on the front, gray and white snakeskin cowboy boots and a black braided belt. He also wore a size-7 black baseball cap with a “White Sox” team logo, and he may have been wearing a white metal necklace chain. He had no tattoos or scars.
