Celebration Due for City Hall Anniversary
The public is invited today to celebrate Ojai City Hall’s 20 years of being located in the former Smith-Hobson estate.
Visitors will be treated to refreshments and a brief history of the move to 401 S. Ventura St. from 6 to 8 p.m. The public is also encouraged to tour the old building and enjoy several pieces of local art displayed in the hallways.
Although constructed as a house, the building has served as a fine home for city government, City Manager Andy Belknap said.
City officials will also present the ninth annual Lifetime Achievement in the Arts award to local resident and renowned potter Otto Heino and posthumously to his wife Vivika.
