The first Los Angeles Times Festival of Books will be held April 20 and 21 at UCLA’s Dickson Plaza. Admission is free.

More than 100 authors--including Ray Bradbury, Elizabeth Forsythe Hailey, Jonathan Kellerman, Judith Krantz, Garry Marshall, Dr. Laura Schlessinger, Carolyn See, Amy Tan, Joseph Wambaugh and Abigail Van Buren--will participate in panel discussions and other events. There will also be a children’s program, including visits by children’s characters such as The Cat in the Hat, Belle and the Berenstein Bears. More than 100 publishers and booksellers will be on hand to display their wares. There will be book signings in abundance.
