Kjell Samuelsson’s slap shot with 20 seconds left in the game banked off Chris Chelios’ skate and lifted the Philadelphia Flyers to a 3-2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Sunday night at Philadelphia.

The defenseman’s shot from between the circles ricocheted between the left post and goaltender Ed Belfour’s legs to put Philadelphia within eight points of the front-running New York Rangers in the Atlantic Division.

Buffalo 6, Florida 1--Pat LaFontaine recorded his 13th career hat trick, and Dominik Hasek made 45 saves at Buffalo.
