Gunman Sought in Hair Salon Heist

A man armed with a gun robbed customers and employees at a Northridge hair salon of about $5,900 worth of money and jewelry Thursday night, police said.

At about 6:30 p.m., a man in his 30s entered Claudio’s D’Italia the Hairdressing Salon in the 9600 block of Reseda Boulevard and demanded money, said Det. Sue Plummer with the Los Angeles Police Department’s Valley Bureau.

Plummer said the man had a handgun shoved in the waistband of his pants and lifted his shirt to show the gun to the 11 people inside the salon.

“He said, ‘This is a holdup. Give me your money and jewelry,’ ” she said.

Police said no one was injured during the robbery, and no one has been arrested.
