And, Finally, Just What Were They Telling Us?
Never mind the specifics of the trade of Wayne Gretzky. What in the world was the Kings’ organization thinking in marching out a top executive, Bob Sanderman, to tell us with great glee that Gretzky would be staying in Los Angeles for a long time to come? Four hours later, Gretzky was gone.
Either the Kings were lying to us--to what end, I cannot imagine--or the organization’s left hand didn’t know what the right hand was doing. They managed to look stupid yet again. When will this ship have a captain?
