Man Held in Stabbing of Woman at Home
Oxnard police have arrested a man suspected of breaking into a woman’s home and stabbing her repeatedly with a pair of scissors.
Jaime Alfredo Gonzales Jr., 20, was arrested at about 7 p.m. Saturday on suspicion of attempting to kill Lori Carini, 36, of Oxnard, police said.
Gonzales entered Carini’s home in the 200 block of East Hemlock Street through an unlocked back door at about 1:30 p.m. that day, police said.
After stabbing Carini with a pair of scissors at least six times in the chest and upper torso, Gonzales fled, police said.
Carini was listed in stable condition at the Ventura County Medical Center on Sunday afternoon, hospital officials said.
Gonzales was being held in the county jail in lieu of $250,000 bail.
