Garcia Closes Out Victory for Allen as Quartz Hill Stays Unbeaten, 5-4

Freshman pitcher Travis Allen teamed with reliever Bryan Garcia to lead the Quartz Hill baseball team to a 5-4 victory over Sultana in a nonleague game Wednesday at Quartz Hill.
Allen (2-0) pitched four innings for the Rebels (3-0) and Garcia struck out the side in the seventh inning for his second save. A run-scoring bunt single by Greg Lattimore and a two-run double by Adam Boudreau keyed a four-run fourth that put the Rebels in front for good.
Agoura 4, Canoga Park 1--Chris Poling had three stolen bases and scored twice for the Chargers (2-0) in a San Fernando Valley tournament pool-play game. David Turner (2-0) pitched a complete game, yielding four hits with three strikeouts and two walks.

Cleveland 6, Franklin 3--Casey Roth had a double, two runs batted in and scored a run for the Cavaliers (3-0).
Thousand Oaks 7, Granada Hills 4--Pitcher Santos Mummey had three hits and picked up the victory. Tyler Holmes had two RBIs and scored twice for the Lancers (1-2).
El Camino Real 9, Westlake 5--Shaun Fishman hit a three-run double and Ben Cliffords added two hits, including a two-run triple, for the visiting Conquistadores (3-0).
Matt Riordan had two hits and drove in four runs for the Warriors.
South Gate 7, Van Nuys 4--The Rams broke a 4-4 tie in the top of the seventh inning.
Royal 4, West Torrance 2--Kevin Mellinger had four hits, including a double and a triple, and drove in two runs for the visiting Highlanders (3-0) in an El Segundo tournament quarterfinal.
North Hollywood 5, Santa Fe 2--Merrill Dunn pitched a two-hitter, allowing two unearned runs with nine strikeouts, for the Huskies (1-1) in the Chino tournament.
Sylmar 8, Harvard-Westlake 2--Javier Ruelas struck out nine and allowed two unearned runs in five innings for Sylmar (2-1) in a Westside tournament game.
Camarillo 10, St. Monica 4--Reliever Tom Trejo allowed two hits and no walks in four scoreless innings for Camarillo (2-1) in a Westside tournament game. Joe Borchard and Mike Corral each had two hits and two RBIs for the Scorpions.
Glendale 5, La Canada 1--Phil Onsaga allowed three hits and struck out 10 in six innings for Glendale (1-0) in a nonleague game at La Canada.
