Authorities arrested a 19-year-old man and were searching for another suspect in connection with a Manhattan Beach murder, officials said Thursday.

Enrique Diaz was booked on suspicion of murder in the death of Howard Walter Abbott, 66, who was found stabbed to death Feb. 28 in the bedroom of his apartment on the 200 block of 24th Street, said sheriff’s Sgt. Noel Lanier. It was not clear where the suspect was from, Lanier said.

Diaz was pulled over on North Bronson Avenue in Hollywood while driving the victim’s car. A teenage girl was with him. The two were taken to the Manhattan Beach police station for questioning but the juvenile was later released, Lanier said.

Abbott’s wallet and his 1989 Acura Integra had been missing since the murder. There were no signs of forced entry into his home and authorities have not determined a motive for the killing.

Diaz is being held without bail at the Manhattan Beach jail pending arraignment.
