No Grand Plan for Dana Point Harbor
The wide-eyed plans being made for Dana Point Harbor (“Floating a Few Ideas,” March 4) are clearly being made by businesses and the Orange County Board of Supervisors, not by the people of Dana Point.
This is a clear developer mentality, and it will ruin the atmosphere of Dana Point and the surrounding areas. Before anyone accuses me of being a “no-growther,” let me remind everyone that what has ruined the California atmosphere--most of coastal Southern California no longer looks like California--is this idea that if they add just five more stories to buildings; add just five more acres to shopping complexes; add just five more units to apartments and condominiums; and add just five more lanes in each direction to our freeways and highways, that a wonderful boom in more business and wealth and jobs and tax revenue will make everything grand.
