Kindergarten Early Registration Planned

The Moorpark Unified School District will begin early registration for children who will attend kindergarten in the city next year.

Early registration will run from March 19 through March 22 at each of the three elementary schools in the district: Peach Hill School, Campus Canyon School and Mountain Meadows School. School hours will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Parents will have to bring proof of birth, showing that their child will be 5 years old on or before Dec. 2. Parents will also have to show proof of residency within the school district, which could include a copy of a rental agreement, utility bill or driver’s license.

The school district’s policy is that all students must be immunized before enrollment--parents should have records that show their children have been immunized for polio, diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, measles and mumps.

In addition to shots, all children enrolled in kindergarten are required to have a medical checkup.

Finally, all students must have a Social Security number for identification and for district records.
