San Diego Police Search for More Body Parts

Police spent Thursday digging beneath an apartment building managed by murder suspect Ramon Ray Rogers looking for more body parts that could link him to any of several murders.

They declined to say what they may have found, but more digging is planned for today.

And in Emmett, Idaho, authorities are pondering whether to dig on property once owned by the Rogers family to look for the body of Marie Watson, who was 28 when she disappeared in 1977.

The family, which had feuded with the Watsons, were suspects, but no body was found and no charges were filed, authorities said. Ramon Rogers was in high school at the time. His father is now in prison on an unrelated charge.

Rogers, 36, was charged with murder after body parts were found Monday in his carport locker. Authorities believe the parts are those of Beatrice Toronczak of Poland, an ex-girlfriend with whom Rogers has a 6-year-old son.

Toronczak arrived in San Diego a month ago so Rogers could see their son. After her relatives filed a missing persons report, San Diego police went to Rogers’ apartment and found the body parts.

The San Diego County Sheriff’s Department has reopened its investigation into the 1994 dismemberment murder of Rogers’ girlfriend, Rose Albano, 33, and the 1993 disappearance of Ron Stadt, 29, a friend of Rogers until a falling-out over a woman.

Rogers is an aspiring actor-rock musician-model. He had a nonspeaking part in the television show “Renegade.” The episode was set in a prison, and Rogers played a prisoner.

He also had small parts in “Dial M for Murder” at a community theater and several TV movies, including one based on the adventures of crime reporter Edna Buchanan. His resume says he is a martial arts expert, hunter and Navy veteran.

A woman who says she is Rogers’ current live-in girlfriend told reporters he is innocent. “I don’t think my sweetheart has done anything,” she said.
