In celebration of St. Patrick’s Day, six bands from throughout Southern California will perform Sunday at California Lutheran University’s first Bandfest.
Students hope the event will become a tradition at the school and eventually help raise money for a new student union, said student Justin Knight.
This year’s Bandfest will feature Crazy Cat George, World Tribe, Me and Buck and BANG! Atticus, a student band, and Timbre, an alumni group of players, will also play.
In addition, the university will kick off a 5-kilometer run, the proceeds of which will go to its athletic department.
Admission to Bandfest--which will take place at the Cal Lutheran Pavilion from noon until 9 p.m--is free.
Registration for the race is $10, or $15 with a “Run for the Gold” T-shirt. Participants can run for free if they raise $25 or more in pledges.
For information, call the Student Activities Center at 493-3302.
