AT&T;, Lotus Confirm Software Venture: Seeking to end weeks of confusion, AT&T; Corp. and IBM’s Lotus Development Corp. said they are indeed working together to let businesses use an important software product through the telephone company. Three weeks ago, Basking Ridge, N.J.-based AT&T; and Cambridge, Mass.-based Lotus abandoned their 2-year-old effort to allow companies to use Lotus’ Notes product over AT&T;’s phone network. But now, they say, Notes will be available after all as part of AT&T;’s Internet offerings. The earlier announcement left the impression that AT&T; had turned its back on Notes, a product that pulls together e-mail and databases so companies can facilitate collaboration among scattered employees.
