Japanese, Jewish Groups Host ‘Legacies’ Program

“Legacies From Our Past, Lessons for Our Future,” an evening of theater, art, video and discussion, will be presented by the Japanese American National Museum, the Jewish Community Relations Committee of the Jewish Federation Valley Alliance and the Anti-Defamation League at Bernard Milken Jewish Community Campus in West Hills on Wednesday.

On the program: “Visas and Virtues,” a play about the Japanese diplomat and his wife who saved the lives of 6,000 Polish Jews during World War II; “Something Strong Within,” film shot by Japanese Americans incarcerated in American camps; the exhibition “Witness & Legacy: Contemporary Art of the Holocaust,” and a panel discussion with museum curator Kaoru Oguri, playwright Tim Toyama and others.
