Soka University Land Dispute
The proposal by Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky and Rep. Anthony C. Beilenson designed to amicably end one of the nastiest and costliest land-use battles in recent history over Soka University of America should be commended (“Accord May End Parkland Fight at Soka Campus,” March 14).
The limited funds for parks can now be used to maintain and improve existing parks plus purchase lands from willing sellers instead of squandering these funds on excessive legal fees and court battles.
