A private consultant has won a $90,000 contract to survey La Habra residents about the kind of recreational facilities they want and to develop a master plan.

Takata Associates of Pasadena has been hired to help determine community needs and, specifically, how best to use La Habra’s new Hacienda Park.

Councilman James Flora said the city’s existing parks “need a lot of help. With the population in kids rising, we need more recreational facilities and to come up with a plan.”

He said the consultants will survey the community and will make recommendations about how parks and other recreational facilities can be improved.
