CBS Newsmag News: CBS News will alter its newsmagazine “48 Hours,” including shorter segments and late-breaking stories instead of solely single-topic hours, starting with tonight’s broadcast. “We’ve had to pass up some compelling stories that just don’t warrant a full hour but are important to tell,” a spokeswoman said. “With a more flexible format, we can bring viewers those stories as well.” . . . On the Sunday night front, “60 Minutes” breaks its silence on the O.J. Simpson case this week, leading with a story on alleged jury tampering, according to a program spokesman.
