Woman Hit by Car Is Critically Hurt
A woman was seriously injured and two of her dogs killed after being hit by a car while crossing a street in West Hills on Saturday night, authorities said.
The woman, who was not identified and was in her late 30s, suffered head and neck injuries and a compound fracture to her leg, Fire Department spokesman Jim Wells said.
She was taken to Columbia West Hills Medical Center, where she was listed in critical condition, authorities said.
The woman was walking three dogs when a car driven by a man in the 24000 block of Stagg Street struck them at about 5 p.m., said police, who were continuing their investigation Saturday night.
Two dogs were killed and one dog ran away, police said.
