Council to Discuss Summer Camp at Park
The City Council tonight will discuss a plan before the Board of Supervisors to open a children’s summer camp in Laguna Niguel Regional Park that would include a swimming pool, horses and go-carts.
Although they have no direct authority over how the county park is used, council members are concerned about the possible impact the proposed camp would have on the park and surrounding neighborhoods.
The county currently leases land at Featherly Regional Park in Yorba Linda to the Camp Frasier summer camp.
At an April 9 meeting of the supervisors, the Irvine-based United Leisure Corp. will propose a similar day-care facility at Laguna Niguel Regional Park.
