Taylor Woodrow Names Executive Vice President

* Michael Wentink has been appointed executive vice president and chief financial officer of Taylor Woodrow, a Laguna Hills home builder. He has been with the company since 1992 as chief financial officer. Before that, he was chief financial officer for Newport Pacific Group, a Newport Beach-based real estate conglomerate. His experience also includes six years as executive vice president and chief financial officer of American Republic Investments and four years as vice president and controller of American Building Arts.

* Peter L. Manno has been named executive vice president of Milcom International Inc., an Irvine manufacturer of power amplifiers for the wireless telecommunications industry. He will have responsibility for sales and marketing and new business development. Manno was formerly vice president of sales and marketing for M/A-Com Inc. and before that, vice president of sales and marketing for Avantek Inc.

* Dan Nichols has been appointed vice president of human resources and administration for Simulation Sciences Inc. in Brea. He joined the company from Aspen Technology Inc., where he was director of human resources. Before that, he was director of technical and professional support at Computervision Corp.

* Philip S. Carmichael has been named vice president of Rockwell Overseas Corp. and chief representative for China. Carmichael will be based at Rockwell’s corporate office in Beijing and will represent Rockwell in China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and Korea. He succeeds Robert Yeager, who plans to retire in September. Before joining Seal Beach-based Rockwell International Corp., Carmichael held several leadership positions for EG&G;, including president, services; general manager, EG&G; China Operations; and chief representative in China.

* Timothy B. Loomer has joined Scantron Corp., a Tustin manufacturer of automated data entry products and related equipment, as vice president of sales. He was previously regional vice president of sales for Automatic Data Processing Inc. Also at Scantron, Lawrence Ganzell has been named vice president of marketing. Ganzell, who joined the company in 1986, was most recently director of marketing and sales support.

* Dale J. Fraaza has been named managing partner for the Orange County office of Arthur Andersen, an accounting and business consulting firm. He will continue as partner in charge of the firm’s local tax practice. Fraaza succeeds Doug Jacobs, who left the company. In addition, Michael J. Puntoriero was appointed partner in charge of the audit practice.

* Gary Ruhlen has joined Financial Processing Systems Inc. in Santa Ana as executive vice president and general manager. He was formerly executive vice president with the L.L. Knickerbocker Co. in Rancho Santa Margarita.

* Susan Cowell, Gordon Hill and Steve Shipley have joined Executive Career Services in Irvine as partners. Cowell was formerly with Drake Beam Morin; Hill was previously with Right Associates, and Shipley joined the company from Lee Hecht Harrison.

* Terry Suss has been appointed manager for the south Orange County district office of the State Compensation Insurance Fund, a workers’ compensation insurer. Suss, who has been with the company since 1977, was formerly claims manager for the San Diego district office.

* Brian Lake, formerly president of Coto de Caza Ltd., has formed Brian Lake & Associates, a land development consulting firm in Huntington Beach. The new firm will specialize in advising developers on golf course community planning, design, development, marketing and operations. Lake had been with Chevron Land and Development Co. for 29 years, serving as president of Coto de Caza from 1992 to 1996, and before that was president of Huntington Seacliff Corp.
