Albert Beich; Broadway Playwright, Screenwriter

Albert Beich, 77, American screenwriter and playwright who wrote the Broadway hit “The Man in the Dog Suit.” Educated at Canada’s McGill University, Beich served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He began his career at MGM and eventually wrote for several major studios and television networks. In addition to the Broadway play starring Hume Cronyn and Jessica Tandy, Beich wrote material for such stars as Jimmy Durante, Red Skelton, Bette Davis, Barbara Stanwyck and Donald O’Connor. On March 30 in Scottsdale, Ariz.
