‘The Hangar’

Share

The Jethawks will play 70-game home schedule in their new ballpark, dubbed ‘The Hanger’. Like the JetHawks, California League teams with new ballparks have nicknames for their new homes: ‘The Epicenter’ in Rancho Cucamonga, ‘The Ranch’ in San Bernardino, and ‘The Diamond’ in Lake Elsinore. Here is a look at the JetHawks’ new roost--Lancaster Municipal Stadium.

COST TO ATTEND

The new stadium, which features 12 luxury sky boxes, can seat 4,500 spectators. An additional 1,500 people can be accommodated on grass berms

* Luxury boxes: Most of the 12 boxes will accommodate 15 people and sell for $7,000 for the season. One with seating for 18 will cost $7,500. The largest box seats 21, and will cost $8,000.

NOT YOUR AVERAGE BALLPARK

The new stadium will offer services that are not normally found in major league ballparks.

* HAIRCUTS WHILE YOU WATCH: ‘The Hanger’ will have its own resident barber for those needing a trim. Cost is yet to be determined, but proceeds will go to charity.

* TUB ‘O FUN: A jacuzzi will be available for fans to rent out during the game. It will be located adjacent to the grassy picnic area along the right field line. The hot tub will sit four people comfortably.

* THE RUB: A physical therapist will also be available to soothe edgy nerves. Fans won’t miss any of the game while enjoying a massage.

PARKING

The stadium has 1,000 on-site spots for $1 or $2. An additional 500 free off-site spots will be available across 25th Street West.

KEEPING UP WITH THE GAME

* ‘HANGER’ VISION A full-color video screen, similar to those in major league parks, will be installed above the left field wall. Fans will be able to see instant replays on the screen.

* NOSTALGIC SCOREBOARD: A manually-operated scoreboard will be built into the fence in right field. The only thing electronic in the scoreboard will be the balls-strikes-outs indicator and a clock.
