Ex-Member of Milli Vanilli Pleads No Contest to 3 Assaults

A member of the pop music duo Milli Vanilli--which was forced to return their 1989 Best New Artist Grammy award because they lip-synched performances--was sentenced Monday to 90 days in jail and 180 days in a drug rehabilitation center after pleading no contest to three assaults.

Robert Pilatus, 31, of North Hollywood admitted that he violated his probation from an earlier criminal conviction and that he was responsible for three attacks from December to February in West Los Angeles, according to the city attorney’s office.

In entering the plea, Pilatus agreed to spend six months as a live-in patient at the Cry Help Program, a North Hollywood rehabilitation center, then surrender to serve the 90-day jail term.
