In another Freeway League game:
Troy 1, Sonora 0 (15)--Jaclyn Blankenship’s squeeze bunt drove in Shannon Nelson with the winning run in the 15th inning. Valerie Kerbs pitched a three-hitter for Troy (12-7, 2-2).
In the Academy League:
St. Margaret’s 16, Orangewood Academy 0 (5, mercy)--Amber Arnold (4-3) pitched a one-hitter, striking out 13, and Gina Arreola had three hits and three runs scored for St. Margaret’s (9-3, 4-0).
In the Century League:
Orange 5, Canyon 1--Dara Marzolo was three for four with two runs scored and Lindsay Huebner (7-7) gave up five hits for Orange (10-8, 2-2). Canyon falls to 14-7, 3-1.
El Modena 5, Villa Park 1--Terry Bates had three hits, including two doubles, and two RBIs for host El Modena (13-7, 2-1).
In the Garden Grove League:
Pacific 10, Los Amigos 0--Dara Tovias, the Mariners’ No. 3 pitcher, pitched a perfect game with four strikeouts. Tovias, a junior, threw her first no-hitter last week against Santiago.
Freshman catcher Toria Auelua was three for three with two RBIs and scored three runs for Pacifica (17-3, 6-1).
Garden Grove 5, Santiago 0--Kathy Moore pitched a one-hitter and had a double, an RBI and a run scored for host Garden Grove (16-7, 5-2). Erica Hammontree had a double, an RBI and a run scored for the Argonauts.
In the Olympic League:
Whittier Christian 1, Brethren Christian 0--Jodi Alessi hit the game-winning single in the bottom of the seventh inning for Whittier Christian (7-10, 2-2). Joey Miller pitched a three-hitter and had six strikeouts for the Heralds.
In the Pacific Coast League:
Aliso Niguel 6, Estancia 1--Stephanie Mueller (3-4) pitched a two-hitter for Aliso Niguel (7-11, 3-1).
University 7, Costa Mesa 3--Costa Mesa rallied for three runs in the seventh, highlighted by Krissy Jenet’s leadoff home run. Kari Rowberg had a three-run triple in the top of the seventh to give University a 7-0 lead.
In the Sunset League:
Huntington Beach 1, Los Alamitos 0--Nicole Kreipl’s single in the third inning drove in sister Bryn Kreipl for Huntington Beach’s only run. Heather Hibben pitched a two-hitter for the Oilers (16-6, 4-0).
Fountain Valley 2, Esperanza 1--Jackie Killian scored the go-ahead run on a wild pitch in the third inning for Fountain Valley (10-5, 3-1). Andrea Kleckner was two for three for the Barons.
