Beach Has 2-Shot Lead in Anaheim City Golf
Xio Beach of Seal Beach made a hole-in-one Saturday and grabbed a two-stroke lead after one round of the Anaheim City Golf Championship.
Beach, who used a 5-iron on the 125-yard No. 9 hole at Dad Miller, finished with a 68.
Giles Meyer of Westminster has a two-stroke advantage over 1994 tournament winner Mike Turner of Sherman Oaks in the men’s championship division. Meyer shot a 68 at Anaheim Hills.
The two-day tournament concludes today with golfers switching courses for the second round. More than 400 golfers from the Southland are competing.
