Man Found Shot to Death in Cypress
Police are trying to identify a man in his early 20s who was found shot to death Tuesday morning near a railroad right-of-way.
A Cypress resident out walking about 8:50 a.m. found the body on the right-of-way between Holder Street and Knott Avenue, said Cypress Police Sgt. John Avila. The man had been shot once in the head, Avila said.
Officers found a revolver near the body. The man, officials said, is a Latino.
Avila said the case is being investigated as a homicide for the time being, but suicide is also a possibility.
“We don’t want to miss anything,” he said.
Anyone with any information about the shooting or the identity of the victim should call Cypress Police Department investigators at (714) 229-6635.
