Nearly 300 students, parents and preachers joined hands in prayer at El Segundo’s Library Park on Thursday in celebration of the 45th annual National Day of Prayer.
The community observance marks the second year that city residents have come together to pray. The event featured a performance from the St. Anthony’s School children’s choir and several readings from the Scriptures that were followed by prayers for personal needs, the nation, the city of El Segundo and the world.
The National Day of Prayer is celebrated nationwide on the first Thursday of May. People of all religions can participate.
