Santa Fe Unveils Arts Packages
Five arts organizations in Santa Fe, N.M., have joined forces with the Convention and Visitors Bureau and Santa Fe Central Reservations to create performance-and-accommodations packages that offer travelers one-stop shopping for tickets, lodging and, in some cases, discounts. They are calling the June 5-Sept. 7 promotion “Santa Fe on Stage.”
The participating groups are Santa Fe Opera, Chamber Music Festival and Desert Chorale, Santa Fe Stages International Theater Festival and the Maria Benitez Teatro Flamenco.
To participate, travelers select the performances they want to see and choose from a list of 18 deluxe, moderate or value accommodations. To qualify for special rates, visitors must stay at least three nights and attend two performances.
Prices vary according to the options chosen, but a spokeswoman said a midweek stay in a moderate hotel and featuring excellent seats is the best value at about $275 per person. A package that combines a deluxe hotel and “premium events” (often weekend tickets) would run about $475 a person. Value packages--including value motels and premium tickets--might run about $230 a person.
Rates are based on availability and double occupancy. Blackout dates are Aug. 15-18. Information: (800) 776-7669, Ext. 535.
