Bulls-Magic Game 2 Is No. 1 in Number of Viewers on Cable
TNT’s telecast of Game 2 between Orlando and Chicago on Tuesday night was seen in about 5.8 million homes, the most to ever watch an NBA game on cable TV.
TNT did an 8.6 Nielsen cable rating for the game, second highest ever on cable, Turner Sports said.
The 5.8 million homes beats the old record by about 800,000 for Game 2 of last year’s Chicago-Orlando series. The highest-rated NBA game in cable history was 8.8 on TBS for Game 5 of the Detroit-Boston series in 1988.
Since 1988, Turner Sports has not had the broadcast rights to any Game 5.
