Man Killed as Truck Hits Car
A man was killed early Sunday when his car was broadsided by a large truck as he tried to leave a department store parking lot.
The dead man was identified as Francisco Cano of La Habra.
According to police, Cano, 45, ran a red light at Target Way and Imperial Highway about 7:10 Sunday morning as he was attempting to leave a store parking lot to turn left on Imperial.
The truck struck Cano’s car directly on the passenger-side door.
“He never had time to hit his brakes,” police spokesman Vernon Mangels said of the truck driver.
Mangels said that no charges had been filed, pending an investigation.
