In This Shirt, You Can Be as Bad as You Wanna Be

For every tasteless T-shirt, there seems one worse, but the capper might well have come from New Jersey, where Micky Goldschmidt has been selling a long-sleeved, cream-colored shirt that has images of tattoos on the back, sleeves and front.

But a federal judge in Newark ruled Tuesday that Goldschmidt appears to have been unfairly profiting from--you guessed it--Dennis Rodman and issued an injunction barring the sale of “Dennis Rodman Tattoo T-Shirts,” which have not been endorsed.

Judge Alfred Wolin also said Goldschmidt’s lawyers can take a deposition from Rodman two weeks after the Chicago Bulls’ season ends, and at that deposition Rodman could have to remove his shirt and show his tattoos.

And finally: Bob Smizik of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette disagrees with Pirate Manager Jim Leyland’s saying that Barry Bonds “might be the greatest player of all time.”

Wrote Smizik: “Here’s one club you don’t hear much about--the 500-1,900 club. That’s 500 home runs and 1,900 RBIs. There are three members: Aaron, Ruth and Mays. When Bonds joins that club, I’ll take Leyland’s claim more seriously.”
