* After four days of numerous telephone calls, promises to call back and switching from one extension to another, I failed to get this good news in The Times. [Recently] 12 public high school graduates in the Valley were presented with $1,500-dollar scholarships for university education by members of Valley University Women. These young people should be recognized for their hard work and accomplishments, and the women who raised $20,000 should be mentioned also. One student was not present, totaling 13 honored young people. Most interesting were the comments by each recipient about their individual accomplishments and plans for the future, a truly inspiring evening meeting for those of us easily depressed by constant media coverage of bad news.
