Man Shot in Arm Outside Residence
A disagreement between two men ended with an exchange of shotgun fire at a residence near Ventura on Friday, authorities said.
Todd Hubbard, 37, of Santa Paula was taken to Community Memorial Hospital in Ventura for a shotgun wound to his arm, Sheriff’s Sgt. Chris Lathrop said.
Hubbard was listed in stable condition Friday night, hospital officials said.
According to witnesses, Hubbard drove to the home of Tom Smith, 44, with a shotgun about 8:45 a.m. Hubbard confronted Smith--who was also carrying a shotgun--in the driveway of Smith’s Norway Drive home near Ventura Avenue.
A fight ensued and both men exchanged fire, Lathrop said. Only Hubbard was hit. The men were apparently fighting over several issues, Lathrop said.
There were no other injuries, and the investigation is continuing, authorities said.
