Joseph Louis Pecora; World War II Veteran
Joseph Louis Pecora, a World War II Navy veteran and local businessman, died Friday after a brief illness. He was 69.
The Ventura resident lived in Ventura County for the past 51 years. He was the owner and operator of Pecco Gas Lift. He had a love for family gatherings and a passion for Italian food, his family said.
He is survived by his wife, Alberta Pecora of Ventura; three daughters, Carol Hession of Palm Springs and Marie Gilmore and Patricia Ledbetter, both of Ventura; two sons, Joseph Pecora III and John Pecora, both of Ventura; his brother Michael Albano of Worcester, Mass.; three sisters, Antoinette Albano, Carmela Manzaro and Madilene Herman, all of Worcester; 11 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
A Mass of Christian Burial and a rosary will be said at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the Sacred Heart Church in Ventura. The Rev. Msgr. Michael Braun will preside.
Visitation is from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home in Ventura.
