A Man-Bites-Dog Story: Bad News for the Dog
Not only did the man bite the dog, but the dog died.
Arnim John Kudinow of Lake Oswego was sentenced to 1 1/2 years in prison for ramming a police car with his pickup, throwing a knife at officers and biting a police dog on its nose.
The dog, named Ronnie, died from a streptococcus infection 3 1/2 weeks later. Police believe the bite was to blame.
Kudinow bit Ronnie after a 17-mile chase last December. The chase began after a gas station attendant had reported that Kudinow appeared drunk.
Kudinow was also sentenced last week to two years’ probation and ordered to pay $594.80 for damages, undergo anger-control counseling, alcohol-abuse treatment and mental health therapy.
