84 Charing Cross Road (Bravo Sunday at 6:05 p.m., Monday at 12:05 a.m. and Saturday at 8 p.m.), a 1987 release, is a joyous celebration of the life of the imagination; it dramatizes how books enrich our lives and build bridges between people. Anne Bancroft plays writer Helene Hanff, who despairs of finding Manhattan bookstores with certain books she cherishes. She discovers a fellow book lover (Anthony Hopkins) when she writes to a London bookstore in 1949, and commences upon an extraordinary epistolary relationship.
